Daffy Goes Home!

Best of news! The network worked and Daffy is in a home with another FELV positive kitten and they now both have friends!!

Friends of Feral Felines SECT has a unique situation. We have Daffy (short for daffodil) who tested positive for feline leukemia. She has been perfectly healthy but cats with leukemia virus may at any point develop life threatening illness, or as they get a little older their immune system may wipe it out, or occasionally cats continue to live long healthy lives even with the virus . It is unpredictable. We are looking for a home or foster with no cats or an elderly and fairly solitude cat. The virus usually doesn’t infect older cats and although there is a good vaccine against feline leukemia, the efficacy is not a guaranteed 100% protection. Feline leukemia is not a hearty virus meaning it dies quickly outside of the cat and is transmitted through intimate contact such as grooming and sharing food. This virus infects only cats and primarily young cats so to find a home with a dog who would enjoy a playful roommate would be perfect. She is approximately 4 months old and up to date on vaccinations for Rabies and feline distemper/ upper respiratory disease. She was test two times positive for leukemia (July and September).

Our organization will cover her spay through our veterinarian, her first two years of vaccines through our veterinarian and her feline leukemia retesting every 6 months. She is playful, sweet, cuddly, amazing. Vet checks and references are required.
